It is uniquely designed that Timken tapered bearings can manage both thrust and radial loads on rotating shafts and in housings. Timken tapered roller bearings are composed of four inter related components: the inner ring ,or cone, outer ring, or cutting, rolling elements,or tapered roller and the roller restraint,or cage. The inner ring angles allow the rotation to handle a combination of radial and thrust loads. The sharp angle of the cup, strengthen the capacity to manage the port charges thrust.That is to say, the steeper the cup angle, the greater the ability of the bearing to handle thrust loads.
